A unique profile of British pop superstar Robbie Williams. It took a year and a half to get permission to film the lavish dance sequence on London’s Regent Street over four nights, as it is actually owned by the British royal family. Two nights before filming, after spending a whole week rehearsing in a studio taping on the street, II. Queen Elizabeth died and filming had to be postponed. Everyone had to be paid anyway, including stores and crew, and production insurance did not cover losses due to the monarch’s death, so the producers had to raise additional funds to film the sequence, which was shot five months later. The title character, Robbie Williams, is portrayed as a chimpanzee. Robbie Williams is not actually a chimpanzee.
