He’s smart
He’s charming. He’s Dexter Morgan, America’s favorite serial killer, who spends his days solving crimes and committing them at night. In Season 8, David Zayas wasn’t always playing Angel Batista. In some shots, his son David Zayas Jr.
stands in for his father, since they look remarkably similar
Visible throughout the first season, Dexter has a large scar on his left side. Later, in Season 2, the scar moved to his right side, leaving his left side unmarked. Dexter Morgan: For a long time, I lived in darkness. Over the years, my eyes adjusted until the darkness became my world and I could see.
Thankfully, Dexter absolutely delivers on its promises
Featured at the 64th Annual Golden Globe Awards (2007). Main Theme Written by: Rolfe Kent Performed by: Rolfe Kent I read Lindsay’s excellent books a while back—Darkly Dreaming Dexter and Dearly Devoted Dexter—and when I found out they were being made into a series, I was incredibly excited. So excited, in fact, that I was afraid of being disappointed simply because my expectations were so high. The show maintains the uncomfortable atmosphere of the novels more faithfully than you might expect, and Dexter (played by Hall) is there.
Disturbing, sure, but more than that—fascinating
The visuals of the show are stunning, to say the least. Watching the series, you can’t help but find yourself feeling sorry for Dexter. He’s a monster, and yet he’s completely relatable. 10 out of 10.
