The show moves the setting to the present day. Eddie Redmayne excels in The Day of the Jackal, bringing depth and intensity to his role, keeping the audience on the edge of their seats at every turn.
Lashana Lynch, however, seems a bit of a mismatch in her role here
His performance elevates the story, adding layers of intrigue that make him a compelling protagonist. While talented, her performance doesn’t sync with Redmayne’s nuanced delivery, at times disrupting the flow and immersion.
A stronger protagonist would have elevated this
It makes you wonder about the casting choices – could a different pairing have made this an instant classic? A stronger balance between the protagonists could have brought the epic impact the story deserves.
